About me

In 2017 I co-founded the startup Confrere, which grew to become the de-facto tool for video conferencing in the healthcare industry in Norway during the pandemic. In 2022, we sold it to the Silicon Valley startup Daily.

Previous to that I was one of the first members of the team that grew appear.in, later Whereby, into a global video conferencing tool. I led the first attempts at creating an embeddable API, as well as the billing solution for the paid product.

I have a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. I also spent a lot of my time volunteering as the Head of IT for the student-led festival ISFiT, gathering 500 students from 100 countries in Trondheim for 11 days of workshops, learning and fun. My master thesis detailed securing OAuth 2.0 applications on mobile devices.

In my spare time I like to tinker with my home automation setup, photography, and learn about energy and climate solutions.

Work

I am a passionate technologist and founder that thrive in the early stages of a company or product. When nothing is known, and you have to figure it all out yourself.

While my specialty is WebRTC, I thrive in designing and implementing large distributed applications. You would best describe me as a product engineer, designing scalable systems, reusable components, and stellar user experiences. These are the core components when you want to scale your startup 100x in under a week.

Over the years I have grown as a technology leader, creating a culture where you can feel safe to make mistakes, experience good work-life balance, and can do your best work together with co-workers who care about you.

Volunteering

During my time at NTNU, I spent three years working with the student-led organization ISFiT. I was Head of IT, responsible for the IT infrastructure and applications that supported an organization of 450 volunteers, bringing 500 students from 100 different countries to Trondheim, Norway.

We maintained email, printer and work computers, as well as several applications we developed specifically to support the organization, such as a CMS, web pages, logistics management systems, and communication platforms.

This was all done with a team of 8 volunteer IT students, with little to no practical experience from before.

Personal life

I live in Oslo, Norway with my partner of 8 years in a little house with a small garden (not pictured 😅).

I deeply value my work-life balance. Spending time with some of my hobby projects, photography, going to the cinema, or driving to new and exciting places.

These days I’m excited about AI, solar panels and energy storage solutions, home automation, and gardening. Hopefully I’ll set aside time to share some of these projects here.
